7th Annual AFF Film & Food Party, benefitting the Young Filmmakers Program
Wednesday, October 21st
Driskill Hotel (604 Brazos St.)
$85/$70 for AFF Members
[info] [tickets]The Austin Foodie scene has truly exploded over the last couple of years, exposing our growing metropolis to so many opportunities to eat tasty food and drink delicious drinks. It is overwhelming to consider just how long it would take, and just how many pounds we would gain, in order to experience the best of what Austin has to offer in the dining realm. Thankfully, over the last seven years, the Austin Film Festival's Film & Food Party has been able to compress all of the tasty business around town into one night of bites, booze and bidding.

As in years past, the Driskill Hotel will play host to countless purveyors of fine foods—The Belmont, Carmelo's Ristorante, Driskill Grill, Garridos, Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill, NoRTH, Parkside, Ranch 616, Roaring Fork, Siena Ristorante Toscana, and Eddie V's Edgewater Grille, just to name a few—as well as an endless supply of delightful libations (read: open bar), keeping your belly happy so that you can focus on more important things, like bidding in the Live and Silent Auctions. Items such as two tickets for a set tour and taping of The Late Show With David Letterman, which includes two roundtrip tickets to New York on Jet Blue will up for grabs! Or maybe you'd be interested in two tickets to a taping of one episode for Season 10 of American Idol, which includes two roundtrip tickets to LA on Jet Blue. Perhaps you would like to own a shirt worn by LOST actor Naveen Andrews (Sayid. Hawt.). All of these things and more will go to the highest bidder, and what's even more exciting is that all of the funds raised from ticket sales and auctions benefit AFF’s Young Filmmakers Program.

We've told you before how cool this program is, but it is worth reiterating that the YFP gives the younger generation a unique outlet for their creative voice, which is especially valuable considering the rich and thriving film community that is already built in Austin. In fact, we couldn’t think of a better or more nurturing place for a filmmaker to get their start than right here in our city limits. If you need proof of some of the awesomeness that the YFP brings to our kiddos, you have to look no further than this video. Freakin' cool, right?!

Tickets are the exact same price that they have been for the last two years, so be sure to grab yours now. $85 bucks is a steal for endless gourmet treats and adult beverages and you'll know that your money is going towards a really awesome cause.
