  • The annual extravaganza that is the Republic of Texas Biker Rally offers up plenty of fun activities in town all weekend long. Check out the complete live music schedule here and get ready to head down memory lane with L.A. Guns tonight and Bret Michaels tomorrow.

  • The latest installment of Knuckle Rumbler’s ever-popular Versus series takes place this Saturday at the Scoot Inn. This evening’s clash, entitled Chronic Vibrations and presented in conjunction with Scion, pits The Beach Boys’ pop goodness against Dr. Dre’s booming beats. Local DJs Orión and Prince Klassen will once again guide you through the sonic mayhem; Alison Narro will have her photobooth set up to capture all the shenanigans. RSVP on Do512 to get in for $3 or wear a swimsuit to get in free!

  • Spend your Sunday with the Get Down! DJs at Thunderbird Coffee’s Manor Rd. location. Enjoy an enticing selection of funk, soul, disco and hip-hop classics, a delicious sangria or two, and perhaps a tasty brisket sandwich from the Oldschool BBQ Bus. Thunderbird’s East Side Block Party kicks off at 4 p.m.
  • Some other noteworthy shows in town this weekend include The Twilight Sad and The Calm Blue Sea (Emo’s on Friday), The White Hotel and Sad Accordions (Red 7 on Friday), and Amplified Heat and Tia Carrera (Antone’s on Saturday).
